First impression of Dunedin by Ritsuko

Woah!! Dunedin is big, has a lot of things to see and many places to visit!! I thought that when I started to live here at first. It is maybe because all of what I saw was new at that time and I had a prejudice of Dunedin, which is that Dunedin is a foreign country, so it must be different from Japan.
However, as time passes, it has changed. I've got used to living here, going to school and spending time with family and friends. The more I come to know, the less new things would be. It doesn't mean that my impression was not wrong, it is just that things come to be normal, even the newest thing, at the same time.
Dunedin has something Japan doesn't have. It is really interesting. Also, what I felt when I arrived here is not always the same as what I'm feeling now. But sometimes I can find something I couldn't realize at first. That's quite funny. I think everyday has new aspects!!

  1. Assimilation into a new culture and environment is often unexpected - it can take longer or shorter than we first think and can affect us in many curious ways. It doesn't take long for the unusual to become usual. What do you think?

  3. I found some information says Dunedin is the city most similar with Scotland before I came here. I imagined it as a countryside but it's a considerably modern city. A lot of mordern architectures here. The best thing for me is I can play golf here at unbelievably cheap price.
